Assam Government Prohibits all Interstate Passenger Vehicles till March 31

Guwahati : In order to contain the outbreak of the deadly COVID-19, Government of Assam has prohibited all interstate passenger vehicles' service to and from Assam to other states till March 31, 2020. On March 22, a notification issued by the state Transport Department said, “ Transport Department has observed that Interstate transportation activity of public is one of the major factors for spreading of COVID-19. Therefore, it is decided to prohibit all Inter-State passenger vehicles (i.e. Contract Carriages, Stage Carriages, Taxi Cabs, Maxi Cabs) to and from Assam to other states”. On the other hand, a section of the people have been raising demand for complete close-down in Assam for somedays.
