Assam Government To Celebrate Kati Bihu In Majuli Today

GUWAHATI: First the first time, the Assam Government is going to hold Kati Bihu in Majuli. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will remain present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, State Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, State Industries and Transport Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary and AGP president Atul Bora wished the people of the State on the occasion of Kati Bihu. Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi greeted the people of the state on the occasion of Kati Bihu.

In a statement, Prof. Mukhi said, “Since Assam has an agrarian economy and majority of the people of the State are dependent on agriculture, celebrations of this Bihu holds immense importance. Hope the auspicious lamp given in the fields consign the insects and help in giving high yields”.
