Assam Government to revise service rules for teachers

GUWAHATI: The State Government has decided to revise the service rules of teachers to make postgraduate degrees mandatory for the recruitment of teachers in all secondary schools.

As per the proposed modified service rules, all teachers will be designated as 'secondary school teachers' and marks will be awarded in the recruitment process to candidates who have proficiency in teaching in dual medium (both English and vernacular language). The candidates will also have to appear in a TET-cum-recruitment test.
