Assam Governor attends silver jubilee celebrations of Sankardev Sishu-Vidya Niketan
GUWAHATI: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi said, "The success of any educational institution is determined by the impact it creates in young minds and its ability to teach its students to dream big while they are awake."
Addressing the students at the closing function of the silver jubilee celebration of Sankardev Sishu-Vidya Niketan, Ramdia in Kamrup today, Prof Mukhi said, "I sincerely believe that a successful educational institution should be in a position to enable its students to dream big and helping them to translate their dream in reality. I on this historic day request Sankardev Sishu-Vidya Niketan, Ramdia to motivate its students to dream big and contribute to nation building."
The Governor said that the importance of education is that it should never be used as an instrument for earning degrees only. It should be adequately used to develop an all round personality with a keen commitment to social development. He said that the teachers and the management of Sankardev Sishu-Vidya Niketan, Ramdia together should be working dedicatedly for holistic development of its students. The Governor said, "It is a fact that every child is born with inherent talents. Our primary responsibility should be to nurture those inherent qualities with love and care and help him to become an able citizen of the country with a humane heart to work for the society.
Prof. Mukhi said, "It is the students on which the nation depends and it is the students' skill and wisdom which have been India's greatest strength. Hope the new generation serves society both globally and locally and become a powerful force for 'Vocal for Local'."
On the occasion of completion of 25 years of the school, Governor Prof. Mukhi congratulated the entire fraternity of Shankardev Sishu-Vidya Niketan, Ramdia including its teachers on their role in the field of knowledge dissemination. He also thanked the faculty members of the school for providing all opportunities and challenges which enabled their students to inculcate in them values, commitments and services for manifesting a knowledge driven society.
The function was attended by Deputy Commissioner Kamrup Keerthi Jalli, Dean of KKHSOU Dr Dibya Jyoti Mahanta, along with a host of other dignitaries.
