Assam Govt allows senior IPS officer Anand Mishra to proceed on Inter-cadre deputation

GUWAHATI: The State Government has allowed senior IPS officer Anand Mishra to proceed on inter-cadre deputation from the Assam segment of Assam-Meghalaya joint cadre to the Bihar cadre.

IPS, who hails from Bihar, had earlier prayed for inter-cadre deputation from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre to Bihar cadre on grounds of extreme personal hardship. Mishra, who is currently posted as Assistant Inspector General of Police (Sports) in Guwahati, had been in the headlines when he was posted as the Superintendent of Police, Dhubri in 2020. Later, he was transferred to the Nagaon district in 2021, following which scores of youths hit the streets of Dhubri town to express their disappointment over his transfer.
