GUWAHATI: The State Health Department has set a target of vaccinating 4 lakh people across the State everyday. This intensified vaccination drive will begin in a couple of days. Dispur has already instructed district-level health officials to ramp up the vaccination drive in the State.

To ensure that the vaccination drive proceeds smoothly in remote area and to provide inoculation at the doorstep, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently flagged off three mobile vaccination vans in Guwahati. Another 15 mobile vaccination vans will be flagged off by State Health Minister Keshab Mahanta on Monday in Jorhat. These mobile vaccination vans will cover three districts – Jorhat, Sivasagar and Majuli.

Meanwhile, in Assam, 2,01,44,878 vaccine doses had been administered till 7 pm of September 12. Total 1,64,45,498 people got the first dose vaccine while 36,99,380 have received the second jab.

On Sunday, vaccination drive was conducted in total 863 sites in Assam and on Sunday morning, the vaccine stock in the State was 12,62,530.
