GUWAHATI: The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has advised all examination centre in-charges who have more than 400 candidates to take any nearby government/provincialized academic institution as venue for the higher secondary (HS) final examination to maintain the COVID protocols. It is to be noted that the AHSEC is going to conduct the HS examinations in the month of July or August.

Earlier, the examinations were scheduled to be held from May 11 across 792 examination centres. However, due to the COVID situation, the examinations were postponed. This year, 2,49,399 candidates will appear in examinations from Arts, Science and Commerce streams. Last year as many as 2,34,809 students appeared in the exam.
