Assam holds huge potential for 'Vocal for Local' perspective: JP Nadda

GUWAHATI: The BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party), Assam Pradesh organized Assam Jan Samvad on Tuesday as a part of the virtual rally organized by BJP since June 7 to connect with the public and to highlight the work done by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP government. BJP national president J P Nadda and BJP national General Secretary Ram Madhav took part in the virtual rally with Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, BJP State president Ranjeet Kumar Dass, former BJP MP Ramen Deka and many other ministers and MLAs of the party and office bearers.

"Assam has done a great job during the pandemic situation from all aspects including the health and economic sector. Being the largest producer of bamboo and tea besides being rich in other natural resources like minerals and silk, Assam holds huge potential to grow from the Vocal for Local perspective," said Nadda, while addressing the Assam Jan Samvad from Delhi National BJP headquarters. He claimed that along with the country, Assam is witnessing a drastic positive change under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi.

He stated that the year 2019-20 can be called as a year of achievement and realization as the Modi Government has set an example of materializing many things that was not happening since years, thus establishing India as one of the powerful country.

Talking about pandemic situation that has occurred due to COVID-19, Nadda said that by taking the timely decision of enforcing nationwide lockdown, PM Modi saved 135 crore people from COVID-19 infection and prepared the country to fight against the deadly virus. He claimed, "At the very beginning we didn't have enough material with us to fight against the virus. But, now we can proudly say that whereas we didn't have the capability to prepare PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) kits for the frontline warriors in the beginning, now we are preparing 4.5 lakh PPE kits in India every single day. Earlier the COVID-19 positive cases were getting doubled within a few days and we could conduct only a few COVID-19 tests, now we have a control over the infected cases and we are conducting 1.5 lakh tests per day.

Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal started his address by claiming that the Modi lead BJP government is fulfilling every necessity of the people of Assam. Sonowal claimed, "The people of Assam had to raise their voice and stage protest for every demand during the reign of Congress, but BJP government is doing everything in time before public had to protest for the same."

Sonowal said, "At the time when we came into power, the people of Assam were in demand of certain things which includes and corruption free government, developed Assam, terror free Assam and so on. During this time, the people of Assam have witnessed exemplary result in every aspect. Prior this the step taken in case of APSC can be mentioned. Whereas such a scenario was prevailing in the state carrying the meaning Cash for Job, the Modi government had taken strict action against such corruption."

Sonwal added, "The BJP government had settled down several other issues. Such as Social welfare, P&RD etc became corruption free. Kaziranga turned encroachment and poachers free thus making the one horned Rhino safe."
