Assam Pavilion at India International Trade Fair, New Delhi inaugurated

GUWAHATI: The country's largest trade fair, India International Trade Fair (IITF), 2021 commenced from Sunday at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The theme of IITF this year is 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat- Self Reliant India'.

Assam Pavilion at IITF has been organized in a space measuring 612 sq.m.under the aegis of Industries and Commerce Department. This year four start-ups, 25 MSMEs and six government departments/agencies have represented Assam at IITF.

In tune with the theme of IITF - 2021, live demonstration of muga yarn reeling, muga weaving, bamboo cutlery making, water hyacinth and sital pati craft(mat weaving) are being showcased at the Assam Pavilion. Besides, promotion of Assam Startup and Assam Tea have been given major thrust and emphasis.

Dr KK Dwivedi, Principal Secretary, Industries, Commerce and Public Enterprises Department inaugurated the pavilion. During his interaction with the participants, Dr. Dwivedi urged them to explore the market for export of their products. He also urged them to learn from the product design, packaging of the participants from other States and countries.
