Assam renames 15 of 34 battalions

GUWAHATI: Assam renamed 15 of its 34 battalions. The Home Department issued a governor notification regarding the renaming of the Assam police battalions. The battalions that have been renamed are: Assam Police (Indian Reserve) Battalions, Assam Police Task Force Battalions, and Commando Battalions.

The Assam Police (Indian Reserve) Battalions have been renamed as Assam Police Battalions; the Assam Police Task Force Battalions have been renamed as Assam Police Battalions; and the Assam Commando Battalions have been renamed as the 1st Assam Commando Battalion.
