Attempt To Snatch Child From Mother

GUWAHATI: A person, Sumu Orang, attempted to snatch a child from its mother at Boropara in the Maligaon area last night. When the woman raised a cue and cried, the local people caught the man and handed him over to the police, but not before thrashing him.

A case has been registered to this effect at Jalukbari Police Station. The police produced him before the court that sent him to judicial custody. On August 4, a miscreant snatched a child from its mother's lap and fled to Bharalumukh.
