GUWAHATI: An awareness campaign by the name Catch Them Young (CTY) was organized under the Save Bharalu Campaign in the Banikanta Memorial Girls High School to spread the information among the students as well as teachers of the school.

President Dr. Robin Mazumder explained the sources and needs of the Bahini and Bharalu rivers in the city. He also talked about how the ill intentions of some citizens have reduced the two once-vibrant rivers to dirty and lifeless drains.

He also spoke regarding the complete ban on garbage disposal in the Bharalu River. He mentioned the cleaning and desiltation of the river at regular intervals and the reconstruction of the sluice gate on the river in Bhasistha. This way, the Bahini and Bharalu rivers of the city can be rejuvenated, ensuring a positive future for the water bodies.
