Awareness programme on menstrual hygiene conducted in Kamrup (Metro)

 GUWAHATI: An awareness programme on menstrual hygiene and management for women was conducted by UCO Bank Officers’ Association - Northeast Region ( UCBOA NER) at Thakurkuchi Village, Kamrup (metro), in collaboration with National Health Mission recently. UCBOA NER, an affiliate of AIUCBOF and AIBOC, distributed 110 sanitary pads to more than 100 women in the event.

General secretary Rishiraj Das, joint general secretary Kalyan Goswami, Women Wing conveners Meenakshi Mili and Rashna Bakalial, along with others members of UCBOA NER were present in the event. Dr Mahendra Sarma was present as resource person from National Health Mission. UCBOA NER has launched a programme where they will distribute sanitary pads and will create awareness on menstrual hygiene and management in different locations across Northeast India. The event in Thakurkuchi, Chandrapur was the second of such events. The first of such events was successfully organized on June 18 at Mangaldai Civil Hospital, Darrang, stated a press release.
