Awareness programme on rabies underway in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: JBF (Just Be Friendly), in collaboration with Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), organized an awareness programme on World Rabies Day near Dighalipukhuri on Thursday. The programme aimed to raise awareness regarding the prevention and promotion of rabies. This awareness programme will continue until October 4.

The programme featured a range of activities, including a one-to-one awareness drive, mass awareness with placards, an awareness booth, meetings with small gatherings, free anti-rabies vaccination for cats and dogs, the distribution of a free anti-rabies vaccination coupon, media interaction for awareness, a e-to-one i interview with the public to access the knowledge of the ongoing ABC-ARV activity by GMC, rabies awareness postering in veterinary clinics, and pet shapes.

They will be conducting free anti-rabies vaccination drives at Ghoramara Chariali in Guwahati from September 28 to October 4. An awareness drive will be conducted at Kamakhya Temple on September 30 and in North Guwahati on October 3. JBF has organized various drives and free anti-rabies vaccinations in Lakhimpur, Jorhat, Guwahati, Meghalaya, and other parts of Northeast India.
