GUWAHATI: Global Organization for Life Development (GOLD) under Ujjawala project hosted an awareness workshop on prevention of human trafficking at Pensioner Bhawan, Chandmari, Guwahati. Advocate Ratul patowari attending the workshop as resource person spoke about the laws that can be used at large to prevent the issues related with human trafficking. Speaking about the beggars that we notice in different parts of Guwahati city Patowari said, “It is an industry, controlled by human trafficking cartels. The beggars don’t even get the money that they ask from us”.
Aloka Goswami , Adhykssaa of Global Organization for Life Development, said, “we’ve a misconception that only women and children are being abducted for prostitution and begging, but there are many things happening around us that are hilarious. We’ve rescued some healthy men as well who are provided with three time full meal and then they take away their blood which is known as blood harvesting.
