Axam Xahitya Xabha Poll Code of Conduct in Force

Last date for filing nomination papers is November 27

GUWAHATI: The Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) has started the poll process for the 2023-25 term. The voting will conclude on November 13. The last date for filing nominations is October 27. The poll code of conduct is in force.

According to the poll code of conduct, the president, vice president and secretary general of the AXX cannot campaign in favour of any candidate.

The Xahitya Xabha has published its draft voter list in its 791 branches. It will receive claims and objections up to October 15 and dispose of them from October 16-18. It will also release the final voter list by October 18. Aspiring candidates for AXX president, vice president and secretary general will have to collect their nomination papers from the AXX head office at Jorhat from October 20 to 22. The candidates will submit nominations from October 26-27 at AXX's administrative office in Guwahati.

The date for withdrawal of nominations is October 28. Secretaries of AXX's regional committees will collect ballot papers for voting at the district and branch level between November 2 and 5, 2022 and start voting. Voting will continue till November 13, 2022. The Xabha will send all ballot boxes to the GPO (Meghdoot Bhawan) in Guwahati by November 13, 2022, for postal voting. The AXX will seal the ballot boxes on December 5, 2022, and keep them under the custody of Pan Bazar Police Station.

The counting of votes will be at the seventh executive committee meeting of the AXX at Nalbari. The AXX is yet to finalize the date for its seventh executive committee meeting.
