AXX: Passengers’ air-conditioned resting facility from January 31

GUWAHATI/AMINGAON: A 3055 square feet 24X7 air-conditioned passengers’ rest room is set to be ready for literati bound for the 71st session of the Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) slated from January 31-February 3, 2020 near Saraighat in the North Bank at Amingaon here. The AXX session is going to be held at Sualkuchi in Kamrup. The passengers’ resting facility is set to be inaugurated by State PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on January 28.

Erected by the PWD (Roads) contractor Anil Das in just ten months, the resting facility has separate air-conditioned resting facilities for males and females; separate washrooms for males, females and specially-abled people; a separating room for lactating mothers; facilities for light meals etc.

This is the first of its kind facility in Assam. According to PWD (Roads) assistant engineer Pradip Barman, the resting facility is almost complete.
