GUWAHATI: The two-day long photo exhibition-cum-outreach programme by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional office, Guwahati began on Tuesday at Pub Kamrup College, Baihata Chariali. The theme of the exhibition is Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and 8 years of Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan.

Inaugurating the exhibition, Kiran Kakoti, Principal of Brahmaputra Vigyan Vidyalaya, said that the country was celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to pay tribute to the martyrs and to make the masses aware about their contribution. He urged the students to remember and follow the ideals of the freedom fighters. He further said that such exhibitions also helped to make the masses more aware about various developmental schemes of the government.

Speaking on the occasion, Narayan Goswami, Vice Principal of Pub Kamrup College, recalled the sacrifices of the freedom fighters of the nation.

The two-day exhibition will showcase various photo panels on many unsung heroes of India’s freedom struggle as well as freedom fighters of the Northeast.The exhibition will also showcase the various initiatives and schemes of government in the last eight years.Various competitions, including quiz, extempore and fancy dress competition among students will be held.
