B Barooah College Professor’s husband arrested for child abuse in Guwahati

Continuing the investigation into the recent child abuse case by a professor of B Barooah College and her husband on their domestic help, a team of Dispur Police and Bhagadattapur police arrested the husband.

GUWAHATI: Continuing the investigation into the recent child abuse case by a professor of B Barooah College and her husband on their domestic help, a team of Dispur Police and Bhagadattapur police arrested the husband. The husband is identified as Prembhadra Hasanu.

The police produced him before the court, and he was sent to judicial custody.

According to sources, the Bhagaduttapur police and an NGO, the Assam Centre for Rural Development, rescued the domestic help from the professor’s house recently at Bhagaduttapur in the Kahilipara area. The victim is a 10-year-old minor girl who was brought from Umrangso.

According to sources, she was tortured by the professor and her husband, and physical injuries could be seen on her body.
