GUWAHATI: CBI Inquiry Of Post Election Violence in West Bengal: The Hindu Jagaran Manch (HJM), Asom has submitted a memorandum to the President through the Governor of Assam to take initiatives to help the people who have been affected by the post-election violence in West Bengal.

The HJM has demanded that investigation of these incidents may be handed over to the CBI.

"These were pre-planned attacks on the Hindu community and BJP supporters in the Hindu populated areas. Even though the said violence is considered to be post-election violence, but the same is dangerous for maintaining democracy in the state. These violent activities are communal violence and not just so-called post-election violence, for which out of fear, people from the affected areas went to the neighbouring states like Assam, Bihar, Odisha and Jharkhand," the HJM stated in the memorandum.
