GUWAHATI: BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) alliance partners – AGP (Asom Gana Parishad) and UPPL (United People's Party Liberal) held a meeting at AGP president Atul Bora's official residence in Dispur on Monday.
According to sources, the parties held initial talks regarding the formation of the new government.
While addressing the media following the meeting, UPPL president and Bodoland Territorial Council Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro said that it was a courtesy meeting as both the parties are allies.
When asked as to who will be the next Chief Minister of the State, Boro said, "The BJP is our big brother and they will take the appropriate decision."
Earlier in the day, UPPL MLAs held a separate meeting here which was chaired by Boro.
It is to be noted that while the UPPL won 6 seats in the Assembly polls, AGP secured 9 seats.
