Bicycle Rally in Guwahati Against Pollution On World Environment Day

GUWAHATI: Keeping with the theme of this year’s World Environment Day, MyGov Assam conducted a bicycle rally in Guwahati on Wednesday with the aim of creating awareness about air pollution.

The bicycle rally witnessed enthusiastic participation of cyclists from across the city. More than 120 cyclists gathered to take part in the rally against air pollution. The rally was flagged off by Chandrakanta Basumatary, the brand ambassador of the Forest Department, Assam, a press release said. In his speech, he emphasized fighting problems of air pollution. The bicycle rally was led from the front by Abhishek Gogoi, Silver Medalist at Special Olympics, 2019. The rally started at 6.30 am from Gauhati Commerce College to Noonmati and back to Gauhati Commerce College, the release said.
