BIEO seizes 318 illegal liquor bottles; 2 held in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Bureau of Investigation of Economic Offences (BIEO) apprehended two for illegally storing and selling liquor at St. Francis Road, Garchuk, on Thursday. The BIEO seized 318 illegally stored liquor bottles. The apprehended people are Rituraj Basumatary and Lakhadhar Thakuria. According to sources, BIEO conducted a raid in a temporarily made dhaba, based on information at St. Francis Road, Garchuk, on Thursday. The dhaba was jointly owned by Rituraj Basumatary and Pranjal Boro. During the raid, the team recovered 318 liquor bottles, 77 beer bottles, and 241 whisky bottles, which were kept for selling to customers.
