BJP announces names of candidates for Assembly bye-polls

GUWAHATI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced the names of three candidates for the Assembly bye-polls which will be held on October 30.

The candidates are Phanidhar Talukdar from the Bhabanipur LAC, Rupjyoti Kurmi from the Mariani LAC and Sushanta Borgohain from the Thowra LAC.

The last date of filing nomination papers is October 8, the date for scrutiny is October 11, and the date for the withdrawal of candidature is October 13. Polling will be held on October 30 and counting of votes will take place on November 2, 2021.
