GUWAHATI: The North East Students' Organization (NESO) observed a 'Black Day' across the region on Sunday to mark "imposition of CAA on the people of Assam and the North-East by the Central Government" and asserted that the people of the North-East will never accept this law.

In accordance with a call given by NESO, black-flag protest programmes were organized under the aegis of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) in all district headquarters of Assam as well.

The protest programme was organized in their respective States by the Naga Students' Federation, the All Manipur Students' Union, the Mizo Zirlai Pawl, the All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union, the Tripura Students' Federation, the Khasi Students' Union and the Garo Students' Union.

Meanwhile, programmes will be organized all over Assam on Monday by the AASU to pay homage to those who were killed during the anti-CAA protests in the State. All regional units of the AASU will light earthen lamps in front of the photos of those slain during the protests in the evening. The All Guwahati Students' Union will organize a memorial programme at the Hatigaon High School to mark the occasion.
