Board of Secondary Education, Assam reschedules Class X English test

GUWAHATI: The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has rescheduled the date of the assessment/test in Spoken English for Class X students on October 28 (9 am to 5 pm), instead of October 15, considering the slow progress by schools in registering students.

Earlier, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) asked affiliated schools to conduct an internal assessment in the English subject for Class X students on October 15, 2022.

SEBA directed the heads of various institutions to inform the teachers, students and others concerned that the board would hold the internal assessment in English for Class X students through the SEBA Spoken English App.

SEBA mentioned that the assessment is for an hour, and the teachers can arrange the test any time from 9 am to 5 pm. The syllabus for the test will be Level I (greetings), and Level II (meeting people and welcoming them) of the App notified earlier. SEBA will prepare the question paper and upload it on the App. SEBA also informed that students who have access to smartphones with a stable Internet connection can take the test on the App, but those who do not have access to smartphones will have to take an offline oral test, to be conducted by the assigned teacher(s). Teachers can access the question paper on the Teacher's Information Panel of the App.

The new notification said that for children with special needs (CWSN), written or oral tests, as the case may be, should be at the school level as per the suitability of students. The board has requested the heads of institutes to take appropriate steps to get all the students of Class X registered in the App within two weeks.
