Body of 35-year-old man recovered at Uzan Bazar riverbank in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: The discovery of a dead body on the banks of the Brahmaputra at Uzanbazar in the city on Saturday has shocked the local residents in the area.

According to sources, the body was that of an as yet unidentified man whose age was estimated to be around 35 years. Local residents discovered the dead body in the muddy banks of the river. They informed the Latasil police about the corpse. The dead body was recovered and sent for post- mortem. It could not be ascertained whether the man had drowned in the river. The police said that the reason of death could be determined only after the post- mortem report arrived. Meanwhile, the Latasil police are focusing their efforts on trying to identify the dead man.
