Border Security Force, Guwahati organizes tree plantation campaign

GUWAHATI: A tree plantation drive was organized by Frontier Headquarter Border Security Force, Guwahati, under command of Sector Headquarters and Units up to BOP level for the purpose of environment protection under the Tree Plantation Campaign-2023 by the Union Home and Cooperation Minister. Under the guidance of Dinesh Kumar Yadav, IPS, Inspector General, Frontier Headquarter BSF, Guwahati, the plantation drive was organized for environmental protection and to increase greenery on Friday.

During the plantation, officers, subordinate officers, and border men from all formations of the Frontier were present, and saplings of various fruit-bearing and other trees were planted. The Frontier Headquarters in Guwahati and its units were given a target of planting 8,000 saplings, which has been easily accomplished. This year, a target has been set to plant 1,90,000 saplings for the BSF Guwahati Frontier, under command sectors and units, of which 1,39,000 saplings have been planted so far. The Border Security Force is committed to safeguarding international borders as well as protecting the environment, stated a press release.
