GUWAHATI: Border Security Force (BSF) Guwahati Frontier has initiated a week-long Vigilance Awareness Week at Patgaon, Guwahati and all its units/sectors under command from October 27 to November 2.

The awareness week is being observed on the direction of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) New Delhi. This year the theme of Vigilance Awareness Week-2020 is "Vigilant India, Prosperous India".

The observance of the week commenced by Vigilance pledge by Virender Singh, DIG (PSO) Frontier HQ Guwahati under over all supervision of Rajesh Kumar, Inspector General, BSF, Frontier HQ Guwahati. While administering the pledge Kumar said that the objective of this week is to reaffirm our commitment to fight against unethical practices, blatant violation of systems and procedures, corruption prevailing at our work places. He emphasized the need for creating awareness on governance in the force. He also briefed the personnel about the week-long programme, in which lecture on "Vigilant India, Prosperous India", quiz, debate, displaying banners, slogans and posters on anticorruption theme at prime locations will also be organized during the week at Frontier headquarter as well as units/sectors under Command Guwahati Frontier.

All the staff in the BSF headquarters took a pledge to continuously strive to bring about integrity and transparency in all spheres, work for eradication of corruption, bring pride to the organization through collective efforts and provide value based service to the countrymen. The BSF observes vigilance awareness week every year in conformity with the instructions of the Central Vigilance Commission, New Delhi, stated a release.
