Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival (BVFF) Set For Its 7th Edition at Machkhowa

GUWAHATI: After 6 successful editions of the Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival (BVFF), the 7th edition will be held from September 26 to September 29 at Pragjyoti ITA Centre, Machkhowa. One of the organizers Tanushree Hazarika informed about the schedule of the festival in a press meet held At Guwahati Press Club on Tuesday.

Hazarika said, “This year our motive is to screen films content wise. The movies to be screened are made in different languages such as Bengali, Marathi, Tamil documentary and also Northeast-based Nagamese, Manipuri and Assamese films. A total of 33 films will be screened, out of which 15 short films have been selected as top 15 from 300 short films that we have received for the short film contest."

Filmmaker Pallavi Barua said, “The 300 short films that we received for the contest can be mentioned as a success in our part that we could reach people out there, to provide a platform. We are happy to witness their interest in showcasing the diversity of the Northeast region through their films. Out of the top 15 selected films top three winners will be awarded with prizes over Rs 2 lakh in addition to a trophy and a citation. The organizing team also said that Shantilal O Projapoti Rohosyo directed by Pratim D Gupta will be the opening film and T for Tajmahal directed by Kireet Khurana will be the closing film.”
