Bribery case: Over Rs 65 lakh recovered from Minaksi Kakati Kalita’s residence

GUWAHATI: A raid at the residence of Minakshi Kakati Kalita carried out by the officials of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption led to the recovery of Rs 65,37,500. This raid was carried out after she was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe for reopening a GST account.

Minakshi Kakati Kalita was serving as Assistant Commissioner at Kar Bhawan in Guwahati when she was caught red-handed by the sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption on Thursday, and a case (18/05/2023 vide ACB P.S. Case No. 36/2023 U/S 7(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018) has been registered in ACB Police Station against her.
