GUWAHATI: The North-East Minorities Students’ Union (NEMSU) has termed Hangrama Mohilary’s model BTC a slop and he has failed utterly.
Addressing a press conference at Dispur Press Club on Wednesday, NEMSU president Badrul Islam said, “As many as three Bodo accords have been signed. However, even today, the non-Bodos living in the BTAD hasn’t got equal rights, equal dignity and equal development. Hagrama has only made people to dream. He has signed the BTR accord and opposing it now. The need of the hour is a change in the coming BTC election.”
He said that there were much fratricidal killings in the BTAD, but the BTC administration and the government have utterly failed to rehabilitate the affected people. “The government has not been able to nab the killer of Lafiqul Islam. The administration not being able to nab the killer is mysterious, and there’s enough room for doubting it as a political murder,” he said.
