Cases of loot & theft decline in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: Various incidents of dacoity, theft etc., have declined in January and February this year under the Guwahati Police Commissionerate, compared to the corresponding first two months of 2020 and 2021.

According to police sources, the year-wise and month-wise (January and February) break-ups of incidence of such crime under the Guwahati Police Commissionerate are as follows: In January 2020, there were no case of dacoity, 46 cases of robbery, 93 cases of burglary and 348 cases of theft; in February, 2020 there were no cases of dacoity, 44 cases of robbery, 81 cases of burglary and 419 cases of theft.

In January, 2021 there were two cases of dacoity, 93 cases of robbery, 84 cases of burglary and 392 cases of theft; in February, 2021 there were no cases of dacoity, 84 cases of robbery, 72 cases of burglary and 389 cases of theft under the Guwahati Police Commissionerate.

In January, 2022 there were no cases of dacoity, 34 cases of robbery, 64 cases of burglary and 260 cases of theft under the Guwahati Police Commissionerate; in February, 2022 there were no cases of dacoity, 14 cases of robbery, 44 cases of burglary and 216 cases of theft.
