GUWAHATI: Following the devastating floods that caused massive losses of life, property, and infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh this year, the government of Assam, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, decided to contribute an amount of Rs 10 crore towards the ‘Aapda Rahat Kosh 2023’ set up by the Himachal Pradesh government for relief and rehabilitation of flood-affected people.

In this regard, following Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s direction, Minister of Environment and Forest, etc., Government of Assam Chandra Mohan Patowary handed over a cheque of Rs 10 crore to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at the latter’s office in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, on behalf of the Government of Assam.

Receiving the cheque, the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Government of Assam, led by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, and also thanked Forest Minister Patowary for personally handing over the cheque, stated a press release.
