GUWAHATI: Condemning Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's 'population explosion' remark, the AIUDF (All India United Democratic Front) has stated that the former's opinion is 'one-sided'. In a statement, AIUDF general secretary (organizational) and MLA Aminul Islam said, "The main reasons for population explosion are — lack of education, poverty, and lack of awareness. Thus, the government should focus to spread awareness about population explosion to these sections of people."
Islam stressed that the CM should bring all these communities together and take steps to tackle the population explosion crisis. "Initiatives should be taken to develop the backward areas like the Sar areas. The government should focus to improve the education, health, and employment sectors in the backward areas, and then only population explosion can be controlled," Islam added.
