CID receives 55 cybercrime complaints during lockdown period

GUWAHATI: During the lockdown period, the CID (Crime Investigation Department) has received more than 55 complaints related to cybercrime. Most of these complaints are related to social media such as rumour, objectionable posts, videos, threatening messages, etc. According to a source in the CID, the accused persons will be counseled and some of the complaints will be forwarded to the concerned district. The complaints of serious nature will be forwarded to respective social media headquarters for further actions to delete the accounts. And some cases will be registered.
