GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday held a high-level meeting to review the status of progress of execution of various schemes under the Minorities Welfare and Development department and Handloom, handicraft and sericulture department. The meeting discussed about execution the project to construct 14 model residential schools in minority areas. Sonowal instructed the Minorities Welfare department to complete construction of the schools by 2020. The status of execution of various other minority welfare schemes was also reviewed.
The meeting also discussed about various schemes of the Handloom, handicraft and sericulture department. Among others the schemes on training of 50,000 men and women on handloom and handicraft skills and model villages in Majuli and Moran were discussed.
