Congress announces candidates for bye-polls in Assam

GUWAHATI: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has announced the names of five candidates for the forthcoming bye-elections in Assam. The names have been approved by AICC president Sonia Gandhi.

The Congress candidates whose names have been announced are – Jowel Tudu who will be contesting from the Gossaigaon constituency, Bhaskar Dahal from the Tamulpur constituency, Manoranjan Konwar from the Thowra constituency, Sailendra Nath Das from Bhabanipur constituency and Luhit Konwar from the Mariani constituency.
