Congress MLA of Assam Aftabuddin Mallah apologizes after hate speech

GUWAHATI: The Congress MLA in Jaleshwar constituency, Aftabuddin Mallah, publicly apologized for his remarks on Namgharia and Pujaris at a worker meeting on Saturday. The MLA passed derogatory remarks, for which he apologized to the entire people of the state for his inadvertent mistake.

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) said that "our party is not against any priest, ascetic, Namgharia, Maulana, or Pir. Our party always respects them."
