Cotton University & IIJNM organize lecture on ‘Fake News & Social Media for Journalists’

GUWAHATI: At a time where spreading of fake news and fact checking has become a major matter of concern, a lecture series on ‘Fake News and Social Media for Journalists’ was organized at the Cotton University on Friday.

The Indian Institute of Journalism & New Media (IIJNM), Bangalore in association with Cotton University organized the lecture series where the UG and PG students of the department of Mass communication, Journalism and Media Studies, Cotton University along with the faculty members attended the workshop.

Kanchan Kaur, Dean IIJNM delivered her resourceful lecture on fake news and digital verification and enlightened the participant with the sensitivity of the matter related to spreading of Fake news. Besides these, Kaur also talked about social media uses especially in relation to the journalists.
