Crack down on drunk driving by Kamrup Metro District Transport Officer

GUWAHATI: The Kamrup Metro DTO (District Transport Officer) has appealed to the people of the city to avoid driving in a drunken state during the New Year's Eve. The DTO stated that the Kamrup District Road Safety Committee has decided that during the day the traffic police, excise department, district administration and transport department will conduct operations jointly to crack down on drunk driving.

He underlined that due to the picnic season the transport department has already started to check incidents of drunk driving. On December 31, the departments will conduct operation the entire night to bring to book drunk drivers, he added.
