Crime Branch, Guwahati Police arrested fraudsters

GUWAHAT: Crime Branch, Guwahati Police conducted raids at several places in the city, along with Nalbari and Barpeta, on Thursday. According to sources, the Crime Branch sleuths arrested a gang of six members who provided fake death certificates. The gang would apply for insurance and then produce fake death certificates to get the insurance money. Raids were carried out in Paltan Bazar and Hatigaon in Guwahati and Mukalmua in Nalbari. The gang has committed frauds in several banks. Sources further said that investigation was on and more arrests were likely.
