GUWAHATI: The AASU (All Assam Students Union) said that the State Government had the name of the killer of anti-CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) agitation martyr Sam Stafford with it. The student body would not stop shouting till the killer of Sam Stafford got exemplary punishment.

A statement issued on Saturday by AASU president Dipanka Kumar Nath and general secretary Sankor Jyoti Baruah said, "The CJM Court rejecting the final report submitted to it by the Hatigaon Police Station proved beyond doubt that the police station has hidden the killer, and the State Government and its police force are protecting him. Under no circumstances we can tolerate it. The State Government has the information as to under which police officer the patrolling party in the Hatigaon area was on duty on December 12, 2019. The government also has information about which police official's bullet led to the killing of Sam Stafford on that day. We want the State Government to punish the killer of Sam Stafford."

The AASU extended Eid-Ud-Zuha's wishes to the people belonging to the Islamic faith.
