A meeting of the Sanyogi Siksha Karmi Santha, EV Santha, Siksha Sarothi, Siksha Karmi aru Community Volunteers was held in the office of the All Assam Sanyogi Siksha Karmi in the city on Sunday. In the meeting, the organizations reiterated their demand for reappointing the Siksha Karmis by conducting another special Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
Sanyogi Siksha Karmis had been appointed on a contractual basis under the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Assam (SSA). The All Assam Sanyogi Siksha Karmi and other organizations have been demanding their reappointment. They have now demanded that a special TET should be conducted for their reappointment.
The government had recently conducted a special TET, the result of which was declared on October 3, 2021. The organizations have given the government a deadline till December 20, 2021, to inform whether another special TET will be conducted or not. They alleged that they had approached the State Education Minister many times with the demand to reappoint the Sanyogi Siksha Karmis.
However, no steps have been allegedly taken in this regard despite assurance. They said that if the government does not fulfil their demand, they will be compelled to stage protest at Dispur Last Gate on December 22, 2021. In addition, they will also stage a protest in front of the Raj Bhavan on January 10, 2022 in support of their demand.
