GUWAHATI: On the second day of the Winter Session of Assam Legislative Assembly, the All India Fair Price Shop Dealers’ Federation staged protest at Dispur Last Gate on Friday with various demands.

The Federation demanded for Rs 500 commission per quintal as margins for rice. As there is a Government outstanding of Rs 4290 since 2015, they also demanded a minimum guaranteed income of Rs 30,000 each month per Fair Price Shop Dealers (FPS), for sustenance of livelihood.

Other demands included provision of sugar at controlled rate to all families, irrespective of being ration card holders, protest against privatization of PDS such as Air India, BPCL, IOCL, etc. as it will mean exploitation, unemployment and further disaster to the FDS dealers.
