GUWAHATI: The Central Warehousing Corporation, in collaboration with Dispur College, organized a spot essay competition on Friday in Hall A-109 of the college, keeping in view Vigilance Awareness Week 2023. The conduct of the event was supervised, under the direction and guidance of Dr. Navajyoti Borah, Principal, Dispur College, by Smriti Deori, Assistant Professor, Dept. of English and Teacher-in-Charge, Literary Section, Dispur College Students' Union. Members from Central Warehousing Corporation-Saranga Dutta, Superintendent; Deepa Borah, Superintendent; Padmaja Das, Superintendent; Nibedita Chakraborty, STSE; and Nikhil Chakraborty, QCA-were also present to oversee the smooth conduct of the competition.
The event started with the auspicious lighting of lamps as a dedication to the Goddess of Learning. In keeping with the theme "Say No to Corruption, Commit to the Nation" of Vigilance Awareness Week 2023, students of the college wrote essays on different aspects of corruption and the ways and measures to curb it. A total of 38 students from across various departments of the college participated in the competition, which was judged by faculty members of the college: Dr. Pranita Sarma, Associate Professor and Head, Dept. of Philosophy; Lima Kalita, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Assamese; and Sutibra Malakar, Dept. of English, stated a press release.
