GUWAHATI: The president of the International Hindu Parishad, Dr. Prabin Bhai Tagodia, demanded strict control over the increasing population of India on Wednesday and demanded the use of DNA tests to detect Bangladeshi Muslims residing in Assam.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Dr. Prabin Bhai Tagodia mentioned that, as per the report from the United Nations, the population of India has overtaken the population of China in recent times. But the increase is mainly because of the population and birth rate of Muslims in the country, and the Hindus are not contributing to the same. He also stated that the growth rate of the Muslim population of the country is 2.4, while the same for Hindus is 1.8. He added that a population time bomb is ticking in every village of the country, and the Hindus will be the first to bear the consequences of the same, and Assam will be the first to see the consequences of the problem within the next two decades.
He said, "We demand a strong population control law to bring the birth rate under control immediately. And for the state of Assam, we demand the conduct of DNA tests on all suspicious people within the next six months."
Dr. Prabin Bhai Tagodia also said, "Any Muslim who claims to be a descendent of the residents of the region from 1951 has to mention their relatives from that time. Both parties then have to undergo DNA tests, and they can stay in the state if the results match; otherwise, they will be moved to isolation camps."
