GUWAHATI: External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar and Japan Ambassador to India Satoshi Suzuki on Monday visited the project site of the ambitious 24x7 drinking water supply scheme at Kharghuli and took stock of the status of progress. The project is being funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Dr S. Jaishankar later said even though there were some hiccups in execution of the water supply scheme in the recent years, the project could be inaugurated by the next year. Santoshi Suzukia said that Japan has brought its technology to complete the drinking water project soon so that people of Guwahati get clean water.
