GUWAHATI: Various teams of the city police have been successful in arresting four miscreants who were involved in separate acts of drug peddling and motorcycle/bicycle/laptop theft.

In the first incident, a team of the West Guwahati Police District (WGPD) from the Gorchuk Police Station arrested one Azad Hussain (30) of West Garo Hills from Sawkuchi on Sunday. A total of 12 vials filled with heroin were recovered from his possession.

In the second incident on Sunday, a Central Guwahati Police District (CGPD) team from the Chandmari Police Station arrested one Anirudha Das (19) for stealing high-end bicycles. A bicycle stolen from Gandhi Basti was recovered from his possession.

In the third incident, an East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) team from the Bhangagarh Police Station recovered a stolen Pulsar bike from the hillside at Kamal Nagar. Further investigation is on, police sources said.

In the fourth incident, another EGPD team from the Jorabat Outpost of the Basistha Police Station cracked a laptop theft case in less than 24 hours. One Babul Ali (35) of Nagaon and Raju Ali (37) of Golaghat were arrested and the stolen laptop was recovered from their possession.

In the last incident, based on credible information an EGPD team from the Basistha Police Station recovered a stolen Royal Enfield motorcycle from the Rowta Police Station area of Udalguri district. Further investigation is on. Legal action has been initiated in all the cases, police sources said.
