Drug peddler arrested; 250 gm heroin seized in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: A drug peddler named Ritumoni Pator alias Tikni of Lalmati, Guwahati who supplies narcotics in Guwahati city and Kamrup was travelling from Dimapur to Guwahati by train and that he was carrying contraband.

A police team traced his movement in an Uber and detained him near Hotel Bismillah at Khanka Road in Hatigaon. On being searched, 16 packets of heroin (weighing 250 gm without cover) enclosed in soap cases were detected and seized. Necessary legal action has been initiated. The operation was led by Guwahati Joint Commissioner of Police Partha Sarathi Mahanta with DSP Kamrup, Kalyan Pathak.
